|THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO PUNT GUNNING
This site has been specifically developed to fill
the gap in knowledge of the sport, which has been practiced for over 200
years around Britain.
The activity is the pursuit of wild fowl in estuaries and on the sea using a suitably designed boat (the Punt) and a shotgun of larger than usual proportions (the punt gun or puntgun).
Punts are usually single or double handed and are manually propelled and occasionally sailed. All motors are prohibited by law.
In a single punt one man propels the punt and fires the gun.
In a double punt one man pushes the punt into shot (the punter) whilst the other fires the gun (the gunner).
